Hello!

Are you a local member of PMI who's felt a little too cooped up lately? Are you looking for a reason to get out of the house and go network with your peers?

Are you interested in pulling up a chair and listening to a close-knit team of PSPMI volunteers discuss the lessons learned from the last two years of COVID and planning virtual events?

And, are you interested in seeing what the renovated Meydenbauer center in Bellevue looks like?

Well you're in luck, because it's the pleasure of the Programs Team here at PSPMI to announce our return to live events! We're starting out with a small one to test things out ahead of our big Annual Chapter Business Meeting in June. Just thirty tickets will be available for this event--they're free! So if you would like to join the volunteers of the Puget Sound Chapter of the Project Management Institute, do some networking, and listen to some stories then come join us at 6:30 PM at the Meydenbauer Center! We'll cover parking for the ticket holders.

Come help us break the ice of in-person meetings again, and be part of our test run for live events! Meet your PSPMI Programs Team, who'll be talking about everything they're learning and putting into practice:

Wendy Evans is a mission-driven activator, critical thinker, creative problem solver, and technology expert on curriculum development projects. She's not shy about diving into analysis mode and actively building modern solutions using her technical skills. Project management allows her to share her talents as she leads teams to accomplish successful project delivery. In the role of VP Membership & Community, she loves helping people reach their project management goals. If you need guidance or someone to talk to, please connect with her. She's your servant leader & support.

Dan Baldwin VP of Programs

Dan Baldwin, VP of Programs: A passion for project management in all its different forms, coupled with a love for investigation and analysis, led me to earn both the PMP and the PMI-PBA certifications. A jack of all trades by nature, I have found myself managing projects and programs in multiple industries over the last twenty years—from export/import and trade compliance, to lean manufacturing, IT backup and archival technology, business analysis, and managing a PMO. I’ve discovered that the principles and ideas of project management are industry-agnostic, and I love bringing my skills and experience to new challenges.

Mark Denney, Director of Live Events: Mark has been a volunteer with Puget Sound Project Management Institute since 2019 and is the current Director of Live Events.  Mark is a “practicing” servant leader studying for his CAPM and hopes to obtain his PMP by Autumn.  Currently, he is a Construction Specialist at Puget Sound Energy.  His experience includes coordinating projects at Avista, Oracle (Siebel), and Kaiser Permanente.  He holds a BA and a MA in Communication Studies from the University of Washington.  He has a Certificate of Project Management from the University of Washington Continuing Education Program.  His hobbies include working out, Yoga, spinning, biohacking and  He  watching old movies.  He was born in Spokane and lived for quite some time in the Bay Area, and a stint in Los Angeles.  He calls Seattle home.

Berndt K. Schmidt, Director of Virtual Events.

Bernd has been a PMI member since 2014. In 2017, he began volunteering with Puget Sound PMI for about a year. In 2021 he returned to Puget Sound PMI to volunteer and take on the role of director.

He obtained his PMP in 2013 after gaining experience from managing various IT projects and passing the exam. In 2020 he started working for Omron Management Center of America in a contracted position. Currently he is contracted by TCWGlobal as an IT Project Manager. He received his degree in Information Technology from Klara Oppenheimer College, Germany in 2005 and an MBA from The Open University Business School, UK in 2021.

In 2017 Bernd moved from Germany to the US. He currently lives with his family in the Seattle Metro area. His hobbies include learning anything about science; he is passionate about technology and sustainability. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys running and working out.

Yashasvee Singh, Lead Project Manager:

Hi everyone, my name is Yashasvee, a project management student by profession and an aspiring project manager! I hail from India and have an economics and management background. I love to workout regularly, go out for fun nature activities and enjoy the Seattle weather. I currently work as a student mentor in the Global Pathways program of Northeastern University as well as a student volunteer in the programs division at the Puget Sound chapter of the PMI.
